The Gurschenbach Falls are one of the most beautiful places of power around Andermatt. The water appears as if from nowhere and plunges down tens of meters. The onlooker feels the full power especially when he stands on the small bridge and lets the drops of water trickle down. The grand dame of geobiology, Blanche Merz, once said: "A place of great charging power is located at the foot of a waterfall. The energy of a whirlpool is extraordinary."

The Witch of Andermatt

Until not so long ago, an old witch lived in Andermatt. Behind the Grand Hotel, a pond made of rainwater and manure had formed, with a small island in the middle. The witch lived right there in a hut made of shrubs. She was the only one who could reach the island in one jump. Everyone else had to build a bridge to get across. One beautiful autumn day, the witch came along with polenta and put it in the pan. Now all that was missing were the onions, which she wanted to get in Milan. If she didn't return in time, she wouldn't come at all, she said. And if she did come, the villagers could burn her. But before the polenta had even cooked, the witch was back. But the polenta boiled over and the flames devoured everything in their path, including the hut and the witch. The witch was never seen alive again.
