A hidden gem in the midst of nature, the picturesque Züttbach Waterfall springs from a still pond, like a gentle breath of the earth. The clear water flows down from the surrounding hills in a harmonious dance, its silver strands reflecting in the sunlight. The sound of the falling water is like a melody that caresses the senses and touches the soul.

Surrounded by lush greenery and the gentle rustling of leaves in the wind, the Züttbach waterfall is an oasis of peace and beauty. The fine veils of mist that rise over the pond carry an air of the mystical and enchanted as the water makes its way over the rocks, a constant play of movement and life.

For those who visit this place of harmony, the Züttbach Waterfall is more than just a sight - it is an experience for the senses, a source of inspiration and a retreat for the soul.

Twelvestone

If you venture from the charming village of Hinwil up the sun-drenched path along the Allmann chain to the majestic Bachtelberg, you will come across an imposing boulder made of Speernagelfluh - the Zwölfistein - near the road, just about five minutes above Wernetshausen. This stone has a remarkable property: it rotates as if by magic when the midnight hour strikes at the Basel Minster (or, according to other traditions, at the Hinwil church) - once with each stroke of the bell.

Although numerous night owls have taken their seats on the adjacent bench at midnight, especially on warm summer nights, many have not noticed the stone turning quietly due to all the distractions around them, a secret of the night that only the most attentive can recognize.

Access

The waterfall is not easily accessible. The best way to get there is to follow the stream from the village in summer.
