The Rickenbach plunges down two mighty steps into an incredible depth. The beauty of the water, which constantly overcomes itself and falls again and again, is incomprehensible. The water rushes down almost two by twenty meters, embedded in an inhospitable world.

On the way down to the Scheidegger waterfall, the 200-meter-deep Rohrachklamm opens up, which enjoys special protection status as the largest nature reserve in the Lindau region. With its wet and littered meadows, springs and rocky open spaces, the Rohrachklamm offers a suitable home to many rare plants and animals. Mixed forests of beech and fir dominate the slopes. Further down, the gorge forest consists of ash, ash-alder and maple trees.

The sparkling stream flows into a 48-meter-deep wooded gorge. Steep rock faces, tall firs and roaring waterfalls create an impressive backdrop for hiking. The spectacle was staged by the Rickenbach, which then thunders down into the Rohrachklamm. Botany lovers can admire rare plants and flowers there. A kiosk next to the waterfall provides refreshments. The barbecue area in the parking lot of the Scheidegger waterfall is ideal for social gatherings.
