The Parco San Grato is an experience of colors, scents and one of the most intense nature experiences on Lake Lugano. Azaleas, rhododendrons and conifers from all over the region can be admired on 200,000 square meters. Between San Salvatore and Monte Arbostora, nature has created a monument with the help of the artistic designers of the park near Lugano. Themed trails and panoramic views invite you to enjoy, marvel and relax.

Story

Originally, the Parco San Grato was a pure beech forest belonging to the municipality of Carona. During the Second World War, the director of the tear stopper factory in Mendrisio turned it into a second home with horse stables. A group led by Luigi Guissani later transformed it into the current park by building the swimming pool in Carona. Today, the park belongs to the Lugano Turismo tourist association.

Access

From Lugano you can take the bus (line 434) or the car to Carona. There are parking spaces at the swimming pool.
