The Sihlsprung forms a narrow gorge between the cantons of Zurich and Zug. The Sihl meanders through the valley it has dug itself for 1.25 km.
The Sihltobel stretches from Schindellegi to Sihlbrugg. Several cave tunnels lead from the Sihlmatt to the upper entrance to the gorge. The glacier-formed moraine landscape with numerous boulders and the Sihlsprung created by the force of the river are unique in this form.
legend
At Chungelichaschte, a witch has been living in a cave for years. At every opportunity, she darts out of the Sihlsprung and strangles the children's throats with her long fingers. She is also said to crouch on people's chests at night as a night elf and make them have bad dreams.
Access
From Sihlbrugg, the walk takes one and a half hours along the Sihl over several bridges to the Sihlsprung. The picturesque hike alone is worth it.
