The 350-meter-long loop bridge connects the Buebegunte and Vogelwinkel areas in Baar and offers a breathtaking staircase and viewing platforms. Visitors can enjoy a unique view from a height of up to 22 meters that leaves unforgettable impressions.
background
An original suggestion from a Baar cardiologist who was looking for a perfect place for a heart stair training session resulted in an architectural masterpiece made of local wood: the loop bridge. This impressive structure not only links the Buebegunte and Vogelwinkel areas, but also merges with nature. The stair tower, with its distinctive bends and fan-like slats, enchants with a fascinating play of light and shadow and offers visitors a floating, light appearance or a robust steadfastness, depending on the viewing angle.
The walkway itself winds elegantly through the treetops, with each level surmounted by artfully designed stairs. The structure, which hovers up to 22 meters above the forest floor, is made largely of Douglas fir and spruce from the local forest. This decision to use the material locally contributes to the sustainable use and protection of natural resources.
With a sophisticated design that combines traditional craftsmanship and modern technology, the loop footbridge became a true "once in a lifetime" project. Thanks to precise prefabrication and the use of AI technology, the construction companies were able to implement the project efficiently and safely. The result is an impressive structure that not only offers visitors new perspectives on the forest, but also pays homage to the surrounding nature.
