High above the picturesque villages of Wildhaus and Unterwasser in the magical Toggenburg, the mysterious Schwendisee rests like a precious jewel in the canton of St. Gallen. In the middle of the idyllic Schwendi area, at an impressive 1159 meters above sea level, this natural lake unfolds in all its splendor.

The front Schwendisee, the larger of the two sparkling water eyes, spreads out like a glittering carpet, about 250 meters long and 150 meters wide. Both lakes nestle lovingly in a protected fen area, where life pulsates in harmonious silence. The shore of the Schwendisee, lined with reeds gently swaying in the wind, invites you to dream and linger.

At both ends of this heavenly mountain lake, inviting barbecue areas offer the perfect opportunity to enjoy delicious food in the midst of nature and feast your eyes on the beauty of the landscape. And if you feel the need for more comfort, a charming hotel with tasty dining options beckons on the northern side of the lake.

Schwendisee, a place where the soul finds peace and the heart beats in harmony with nature, awaits you with open arms.
